Lentil Soup Recipe

 Plain Lentil Soup Recipe



Materials:

2 cups red lentils
1 onion
2 tablespoons of flour
2 tablespoons of oil
6 cups hot water (1200 ml)
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon turmeric (optional)
1 lemon (optional)
Red pepper (optional)


Preparation of:

Wash and drain the lentils.
Chop the onion finely.
Add oil to the pot and fry the onions until they turn pink.
Add the flour and roast until the smell disappears.
Add lentils, salt and turmeric and mix.
Add hot water and mix.
Cover the pot and cook until the lentils are soft.
Blend the cooked soup or strain it through a strainer.
Put it back in the pot and heat it.
Serve with lemon and red pepper.





Tips:

Pre-soaking the lentils shortens the cooking time.
You can change the amount of water to adjust the consistency of the soup.
To make the soup more delicious, you can add tomato paste, carrots, potatoes or vegetables.
Blending it in a blender makes the soup creamier.
Lemon and red pepper enhance the flavor of the soup.
